Iforcing people to spend their hard earned money on government services does not make much sense to me. Opening up all industries to competition would better allocate our resources.

I admit I'm not for big government, however they do provide pure public goods like the postal service and public schools.

Yay! Page 3! What a flaming topic. Woo! Keep it up!

I believe in a government that is nor big or small but serves the interest of the American people, and not as a seperate institution with powers to oppress, corrupt, tax and practice apathy.

Even Steven's much quoted Milton Friedman would agree that public schools would be better off in a free market.

Public schools suck because of the biggest union in America; the AFT, American Federation of Teachers. This is where your nonsense bureaucracy comes in and where government messed up.

My views are not very developed though about Education in America and I think Milton's idea, although great, may be outdated. I will have to look into it.
